U of M obstetrics and gynecology department provides us with stakeholders for the design projects and shadowing opportunities for students studying maternal health.

Key collaborators include:

Professor Tim Johnson was instrumental in establishing a meaningful partnership with teaching hospitals in Ghana and allowing engineering students to enter this collaboration through clinical observations. Dr. Johnson has also and continues to advice on multiple GHDI projects.

Dr. Frank Anderson hosts a maternal mortality lecture each year for GHDI students to attend and acts as an advisor for students.

KATH is the site for Kumasi, Ghana clinical immersion for academic program and internship. Over eight years of partnership.

St. Paul’s Hospital is the Addis Ababa, Ethiopia clinical immersion site for the GHDI academic and internship programs.

UM PMR has allowed shadowing opportunities for students working on projects in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
